I bought these to use as steps for my cats to be able to climb up to my basement windows. They were on sale for under $13, so it was a no-brainer to give them a shot. I really liked the mat finish and they seemed pretty sturdy. Mounting wasn't too bad. I wanted them in a very particular way, so there was some trial and error, because you have to keep in mind that where ever you put the screws, the shelf will sit over an inch lower. I lined up the shelves on the floor the way I wanted them to end up mounted, took a large piece of packing paper and laid it over them and poked holes where the mounting holes were. Then I traced those holes on the wall where I wanted it. I ended up taking them down and switching two of the shelves (but that was because I realized the cats had trouble with the small shelf.Overall, I like them. They are decorative, sturdy, and serve the purpose I wanted them for. I also sewed covers for them that I put a bit of cushioning under so it's easier for the cats to grasp and climb on. I only took one star off because I feel like it should have come with larger anchors to support the shelf (they were a little wobbly before I added the fabric.One of the shelves had a seam that wasn't quite flush, so a bit of grey was showing where it met. A little black permanent marker darkened it up and I don't see the line at all now that it is on the wall. They went up really well with the templates, but one of the back holes was a bit higher inside than another on one shelf so I had to offset the level of the screws to make the shelf sit level on the wall. A bit more fuss than I would have hoped but I checked all these details before so I didn't have to drill holes twice (yay!).I have a small sink but a ton of products I keep out on the counter. It was a cluttered mess! I saw these reasonably priced shelves and installed them the same day I received them. The shelves had a nice finish on them and did not appear to be easily scratchable. Packaged very well with styrofoam around the entire box, and came with extremely easy instructions to drill (the paper strips with dots on them and they included stickers!). I used a leveling tool to make sure my line was straight and drilled right into the dots, then mounted the shelves. It's literally THAT easy, and I now have what feels like a brand new bathroom!Was hoping to use these to put Blu-rays and games on to keep them up high where my toddlers can't reach. Saw a customer picture of someone else using it for that, but not sure it'll work. Little banged up but nothing some black paint won't cover. The smallest shelf has some hard glue sticking out that I'm going to have to figure out how to remove or it'll drive me nuts. Good shelves for the price, they'll last, just not high quality. You get what you pay for.These shelves are nice. Unfortunately the hardware they came with (most specifically the drywall anchors) is terrible. I'm going to have to go out and get new anchors and screws because those that came with the package just weren't sufficient and barely supported the weight of a shelf, let alone a shelf with actual items on it. I'm disappointed because they are very stylish and fun looking, and I'd hoped to have them installed and ready to use today.Edit: I got some new drywall anchors, and now the shelves are working beautifully.I have bought three sets of these shelves. They are very good looking, well built. I had no problem with dings or other imperfection. The hardware they came with worked well for us. They are not the easiest to put up straight, that's because of the fact that the hardware is hidden behind the shelves. The template they came with was not super helpful, my husband made his own template. I have a collection of small sculptures from a favorite artist, and these are just deep enough to display them very well. I particularly like the fact that they are different lengths, it makes for a very pretty arrangement. RecommendedI was dumbfounded by the "little things" that were included. As someone that prides themselves on measurements - I had to take a step back and enjoy some ease in hanging these perfectly constructed and coated shelves. Wow! If you have a good eye (hopefully a leveler - a must-have for all) you will enjoy new shelves in a couple of minutes - on ANY wall. Literally! Finding more wall space for more! Thanks Danya B.!I held my breath as I was unpacking these and bingbangboom! they are in pristine condition! Not a scratch or a dent or a mar. The silver melamine is perfectly sealed and no glue overshot nothing to complain about. They are very attractive. I am a teensy concerned about the size of the molly anchors. Judging from the inset of the recessed screw slides in the back, I am sure I can find another molly and screw that I feel comfortable with that should fit into these. The packaging was so exact it kept these from damage.Lovely shelves, look great on my kitchen wall.
